[02-07-2025] – Multi-Vehicle Crash Injures Several on State Route 12 in Greene
Greene, NY – On February 7, 2025, at approximately 11:56 a.m., New York State Police in Norwich responded to a multi-vehicle accident on State Route 12 near County Road 2 in the town of Greene.
According to initial reports, a southbound tractor-trailer sideswiped a Ford Fusion that was stopped in a turning lane, preparing to enter Chenango Sales. The tractor-trailer then crossed into the northbound lane, colliding head-on with a Dodge Ram 2500 before crashing into the Chenango Sales lot, where it struck several parked, unoccupied vehicles.
Emergency responders transported the Dodge Ram’s driver to UHS Wilson Medical Center with serious but non-life-threatening injuries, while the passenger was airlifted to Robert Packer Hospital with similar injuries. The Ford Fusion’s driver was also taken to UHS Wilson Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
The tractor-trailer driver was evaluated by EMS but did not require hospitalization.
New York State Police’s Commercial Vehicle Unit was called to the scene, and the DEC Spill Response team was contacted due to fuel and oil spillage.
Authorities are continuing their investigation.
