Prospect Park, PA (November 3, 2025) – Five people were injured Monday morning in a serious multi-vehicle crash on Chester Pike, according to officials. The crash occurred near Summit Avenue and Amosland Road at approximately 10:20 a.m. on 3rd Nov, 2025.
Investigators say a 2020 Corvette, driven at high speed, triggered the collision when it struck multiple vehicles along Chester Pike. At least one of the vehicles involved struck a gas line, which was immediately shut off to avoid further hazards. The collision also flipped one car onto its side and shattered its windows.
Among the injured was Folcroft Mayor Franny DiCicco, who was driving one of the vehicles struck in the chain-reaction crash. DiCicco described hearing the Corvette speeding before it hit her car and caused a spin that impacted other vehicles.
Surveillance footage from a local business showed the Corvette speeding along Chester Pike shortly before the crash. The footage then captured another vehicle veering off the road and crashing into a storefront, further adding to the wreckage.
Fire and rescue crews used specialized equipment to extricate victims from the damaged vehicles, including one person trapped inside. Fortunately, all five victims were transported to the hospital but were not critically injured.
The cause of the crash is under investigation, but officials believe erratic driving played a significant role in the incident.
The Delaware County District Attorney’s Office is reviewing the case to determine if criminal charges are warranted.
In addition to the injuries, the crash caused significant disruption, with Chester Pike closed for several hours. The accident also prompted the shutdown of a gas line to prevent further danger.
