Coeymans, NY (April 28, 2025) – A crash involving a rental truck early Monday morning resulted in minor injuries and significant disruptions near the Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk school complex, according to the Albany County Sheriff’s Office. The incident occurred around 5:50 a.m. on Route 9W, just north of the high school property.
Deputies reported that a Penske rental truck veered off the roadway and struck a utility pole, bringing down wires across the roadway.
The driver of the truck sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene. The crash also caused a power outage that affected local homes, businesses, and the school district, prompting a two-hour delay in the start of classes.
Authorities advised motorists to avoid the area during the morning commute. Crews worked to clear the scene, and officials anticipated reopening the road by approximately 8:30 a.m.
