Ghent, NY – Stockport Man Killed in Head-On Collision with Dump Truck
Ghent, NY (April 15, 2025) – A Stockport man was killed Tuesday afternoon in a head-on collision involving a dump truck on State Route 9H, according to local officials.
The incident occurred around 1:30 p.m. when a northbound vehicle crossed the centerline and struck a southbound dump truck. The driver of the vehicle, identified as 26-year-old Zachary Seyerlein, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Following the crash, the dump truck caught fire. The driver was able to exit the vehicle before it became fully engulfed in flames and was transported to Albany Medical Center with minor injuries.
Authorities have not yet determined what caused the vehicle to cross into oncoming traffic. The investigation remains ongoing. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact local law enforcement.
