Rochester, NY (May 8, 2025) – A four-vehicle crash on Rochester’s west side late Thursday night resulted in minor injuries and traffic disruption along Lyell Avenue, according to local authorities.
The collision occurred around 10:00 p.m. near Orchard Street. Police reported that a westbound vehicle, driven by a 19-year-old man from Greece, was traveling at high speed when it struck a westbound SUV. The force of the crash pushed the SUV into a parked vehicle, and debris from the impact hit a fourth car traveling eastbound.
Emergency responders transported the drivers of the first two vehicles to Strong Memorial Hospital for treatment of pain-related injuries. No serious injuries were reported.
The 19-year-old driver was cited for speeding, with investigators confirming that excessive speed was a key factor in the crash. The roadway was temporarily restricted as crews cleared the scene and conducted a thorough investigation.
