Brooklyn, NY (October 8, 2025) – Theresa Valenti, 60, of Maspeth, Queens, was fatally struck by an e-bike rider after exiting a city bus near Flushing Avenue and North Elliot Place, close to the Brooklyn Navy Yard, Monday morning, 6th October, 2025.
Police from the 88th Precinct responded promptly after a 911 call reporting the collision. Valenti stepped off the bus onto an adjacent sidewalk and attempted to cross a raised bike lane when she was struck by a westbound e-bike carrying a 41-year-old male operator and a 39-year-old female rear passenger.
Emergency medical services transported Valenti to New York-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital, where she was pronounced dead. Both e-bike riders were treated at the same hospital and listed in stable condition.
