Watertown, NY (April 21, 2025) – Two individuals were hospitalized following a serious two-vehicle crash on State Street in Watertown on Monday evening. The accident occurred near California Avenue around 5:00 p.m., involving a car and an SUV.
According to initial reports, the SUV was pulling out of a driveway when it was struck by an oncoming car. The impact caused the SUV to spin and crash into a telephone pole, toppling a nearby light post and scattering debris across the road. Both vehicles sustained heavy front-end damage.
Emergency responders had to use hydraulic rescue tools to free one of the drivers from their vehicle. One person was airlifted to a hospital in Syracuse, while the second driver was taken to Samaritan Medical Center for medical care.
