Brooklyn, NY (October 16, 2025) – An elderly motorist in the midst of a possible stroke caused a tragic accident in Coney Island on Wednesday, killing an 89-year-old woman and injuring two others. The crash occurred around 12:51 p.m., 15th October 2025, near the intersection of Neptune Avenue and West 6th Street.
According to authorities, the 86-year-old driver of a Chrysler Town and Country SUV reversed his vehicle and mounted the sidewalk, striking three pedestrians. The victims were walking on the sidewalk when they were hit by the SUV.
The 89-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene, while the other two victims were hospitalized with injuries. Their conditions were not immediately released. The elderly driver was not injured, and it is believed he may have been suffering from a stroke at the time of the incident.
