The New York Department of Transportation reported that the incident, which resulted in injuries, occurred shortly after 3 p.m. A southbound section of Route 9, also known as Albany Post Road, was shut down near Ledges Drive, with two alternate lanes also blocked as of 3:48 p.m.
By just after 4 p.m., Dutchess County Emergency Management confirmed the road was closed in both directions between Scenic Drive and Huyler Drive due to what they described as a “serious motor vehicle accident.”
Drivers were advised to avoid the area. The road had reopened as of 8:35 p.m.
