Bronx, NY (July 03, 2025) – Six pedestrians were injured Thursday evening after being struck by a vehicle in two separate incidents on 149th Street and Courtlandt Avenue in the Bronx.
The incident began when the vehicle, a Mustang, struck a pedestrian while traveling east on 149th Street and making a right turn onto southbound Courtlandt Avenue. As the driver fled the scene, they lost control of the vehicle, jumped a curb, and hit five more pedestrians before crashing into scaffolding.
The driver and a passenger then abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot. Authorities have not released a description of the suspects. All six injured pedestrians were taken to a nearby hospital with what are believed to be minor injuries. They are expected to recover.
The Department of Buildings conducted an inspection of the scaffolding and found no structural issues with the building. The area was taped off to assist with the ongoing investigation.
