Woodbury, NY – A tragic high-speed crash late Wednesday night in the town of Woodbury claimed the life of 19-year-old Xavier Egger of Stony Point and injured two others, including his mother. The fatal single-vehicle crash occurred around 10:53 p.m. on April 2, 2025, near the Long Mountain traffic circle on Route 6, according to State Police Monroe.
Investigators stated that a 2017 Nissan was traveling eastbound on Route 6 at a high rate of speed when it failed to navigate a curve at the Long Mountain traffic circle. The vehicle struck a tree in the center of the circle after crossing through the roundabout.
Three people were in the vehicle at the time of the crash. The driver, identified as 43-year-old Steffany C. Egger of Stony Point, and a 21-year-old front-seat passenger were extricated and treated for non-life-threatening injuries before being transported to Westchester Medical Center.
Xavier Egger, 19, who was seated in the back, tragically succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
