Kirkwood, NY – A tragic crash involving multiple motorcycles on Interstate 81 North claimed the life of a 23-year-old man from Vestal and left two others seriously injured on Thursday, according to the Broome County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded to a reported collision around [insert approximate time if known] involving three motorcycles traveling northbound on I-81 in the town of Kirkwood. Upon arrival, first responders discovered that Maxwell L. Kintner, 23, of Vestal, had suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Two additional motorcyclists sustained serious injuries and were transported to UHS Wilson Hospital in Johnson City for emergency treatment. Their identities have not yet been released, and updates on their conditions remain pending.
Preliminary findings suggest that excessive speed played a role in the crash. Authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident. No other vehicles were reported to be involved.
