Geneva, NY – A tragic single-vehicle crash early Sunday morning in Geneva claimed the life of a 36-year-old woman from Farmington. The Ontario County Sheriff’s Office has identified the deceased as Alyssa Coleman, and investigators say alcohol and speed were likely contributing factors.
The incident occurred around 2:00 a.m. on County Road 4. According to deputies, Coleman’s vehicle veered off the roadway and struck a large tree. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Ontario County Sheriff’s Office reported that preliminary evidence suggests Coleman had been drinking and was speeding at the time of the crash. Toxicology results and a full crash reconstruction are underway as part of the ongoing investigation.
County Road 4 was shut down for several hours while law enforcement conducted an in-depth investigation at the scene. The roadway has since been reopened to traffic.
