New Hartford, NY (September 26, 2025) – A 46-year-old Utica man, Alexis Torres, was arrested Wednesday night after a crash on Burrstone Road in New Hartford.
Police and the New Hartford Fire Department responded around 8 p.m., 24th September, 2025, to find Torres’s sedan had struck a curb, crossed into oncoming traffic, and collided with picnic tables, a guide wire, and a utility pole near Cliff’s Local Market.
Officers detected signs of impairment and conducted field sobriety tests on Torres. He was charged with driving while intoxicated, reckless driving, consuming alcohol in a vehicle, moving unsafely between lanes, failing to keep right, driving without a license, and refusing a breath test. Additional charges are pending.
An adult woman in the picnic area dove out of the way and was transported to Wynn Hospital with minor injuries. National Grid assisted at the scene.
Authorities are continuing their investigation into the crash.
