Batavia, NY (July 18, 2025) – A bicyclist was struck by a vehicle Friday afternoon at the intersection of West Main St and River St in Batavia. The incident, reported around Friday afternoon, resulted in the cyclist sustaining a head injury.
Emergency responders, including Batavia Fire and an ambulance crew, arrived on the scene promptly to provide medical assistance. The injured bicyclist was transported to a hospital for further medical evaluation.
Authorities temporarily closed the eastbound lane of West Main Street while clearing the scene and conducting their investigation. The severity of the injury remains under review, but the head injury raised concerns.
Local police are investigating the cause of the crash, and it remains unclear whether the vehicle’s driver remained at the scene.
