Car Crash Claims in NY
Severe car crashes are frequent across Upstate New York, especially on major highways like I-81, I-88, and Route 6. In these regions, snow, ice, low visibility, and aggressive trucking traffic lead to high rates of highway collisions and fatalities. Local cities, such as Binghamton, Elmira, and Syracuse, continue to report rising numbers of motor vehicle accidents, particularly during the winter months.
Under New York’s no-fault insurance system, your basic medical expenses and lost wages are covered regardless of fault. However, if you suffer a serious injury, you may step outside the no-fault system and file a lawsuit against the at-fault driver for additional damages such as pain and suffering.
New York law gives you three years from the date of the accident to file a personal injury lawsuit. Without immediate legal help from a New York car accident lawyer, it is easy for victims to lose critical evidence, fall behind on deadlines, or accept unfair settlements that do not reflect the true cost of their injuries.
