Colonie, NY - Head-On Collision on I-87 Near Exit 3

Colonie, NY (May 18, 2025) – A two-vehicle accident occurred on I-87 near Exit 3 in Colonie at approximately 8:41 p.m. on May 18, 2025, resulting in no reported injuries.

According to State Police, the collision involved a vehicle driven by Nour H. El Haidari, 19, of Albany, who was traveling eastbound on Albany Shaker Road, approaching the traffic light to turn right onto the I-87 southbound ramp. During the incident, El Haidari failed to keep right of the median, crossed into the northbound lane, and collided head-on with a second vehicle driven by Brian L. Weick, 60, of Carmel-By-The-Sea, CA, who was traveling northbound on the I-87S Exit 3 ramp.

Colonie EMS responded to the scene and evaluated the involved individuals, but no injuries were reported.

El Haidari was issued a ticket for vehicle and traffic violations. Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the collision.
