Deerfield, NY – One Dead in Fiery Single-Vehicle Crash on Route 12

Deerfield, NY (April 12, 2025) – One person is dead following a single-vehicle crash Saturday evening on Route 12 near the Trenton Road overpass, according to New York State Police.

The incident occurred shortly after 7:30 p.m. when a northbound vehicle left the roadway, crossed the median, struck a bridge post, and caught fire. Emergency crews arrived to find the vehicle fully engulfed in flames beneath the overpass. One person was found deceased inside the vehicle.

Route 12 was closed in both directions following the crash. As of April 13 at 12:00 a.m., authorities confirmed that the roadway has been fully reopened.

The investigation is ongoing, and additional details will be released at a later time.
