Delhi, NY (July 12, 2025) – A head-on crash Saturday afternoon on State Highway 28 in Delhi resulted in one fatality and left another person seriously injured.
The collision occurred around 4:00 p.m., when a southbound pickup truck, driven by 71-year-old Roger Hadley of Andes, NY, crossed into the northbound lane for unknown reasons and struck an oncoming SUV. The SUV was driven by off-duty New York State Trooper Anna Aulino, who was heading home in her personal vehicle.
Trooper Aulino sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries and was airlifted to Albany Medical Center for treatment. Hadley was pronounced dead at the scene.
The New York State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit conducted a full investigation at the crash site. The cause of the crash is still under investigation, and it remains unclear why Hadley crossed into oncoming traffic.
