Van Cortlandt Park, NY (October 11, 2025) – Emergency responders were called Friday evening, 10th October, 2025, to a two-vehicle collision at Van Cortlandt Park South and the Major Deegan Expressway in Van Cortlandt Park.
According to the NYPD, a 41-year-old man driving a 2025 Volkswagen with a 37-year-old female passenger collided with a 2024 Lexus driven by a 68-year-old man, which also had a 61-year-old female passenger. The Volkswagen overturned during the crash, and the driver sustained head injuries. He was transported by EMS to Jacobi Medical Center in Morris Park, where he is in stable condition. The passengers in both vehicles were not injured.
The NYPD is investigating the collision for any criminal aspects, while the NYC Department of Transportation is reviewing roadway design at the location to assess contributing factors.
