Stony Point, NY (August 10, 2025) – A man in his twenties was killed in a violent crash early Sunday morning in Stony Point, when his SUV went airborne and collided with the second floor of a mixed-use building. The crash occurred shortly before 1:00 a.m. at 52 North Liberty Drive, near the intersection of Ten Eyck Street.
Police reports indicate the driver was traveling northbound on North Liberty Drive when he lost control of the vehicle. The SUV jumped the curb, flew across a parking lot, and slammed into the top floor of a two-story building. The impact caused significant damage to the building’s roof, including a damaged chimney, before the vehicle fell to the ground.
The building houses a restaurant on the first floor and apartments above. At the time of the crash, about five residents were asleep inside. The force of the crash jammed the building’s front door, and the residents had to escape through a window. Fortunately, no one in the building was injured.
