Elbridge, NY (May 16, 2025) – A vehicle collision occurred on State Route 5 in the town of Elbridge at approximately 7:50 p.m. on May 16, 2025. The incident involved a 2021 Subaru Outback, driven by 57-year-old Cornelia Bianco of Syracuse, NY, and a 2017 Ford Explorer, driven by 58-year-old Scotte Farrar of Weedsport, NY.
According to State Police, Bianco’s Subaru was traveling eastbound when it struck Farrar’s Ford Explorer, which was slowing down in the left lane to turn into a parking lot. The impact caused the Subaru to catch fire, becoming fully engulfed in flames. Fortunately, Bianco was able to escape the vehicle before it was fully consumed by the fire.
Both drivers were evaluated on-site by Jordan Ambulance personnel but declined transportation to the hospital. Bianco was later issued a traffic ticket for following too closely.
Authorities are continuing to investigate the collision, which highlights the importance of maintaining safe following distances while driving.
