Kent, NY (June 23, 2025) – One person is dead following a serious motor vehicle collision that occurred Monday afternoon on Interstate 84 westbound in the Town of Kent, according to the New York State Police.
Troopers responded to the crash at approximately 1:48 p.m. in the area of mile marker 61.4. Authorities confirmed that one individual was pronounced deceased at the scene. The identity of the victim has not been released pending notification of next of kin.
The crash prompted the closure of Interstate 84 westbound, with traffic diverted off at State Route 311. Motorists were advised to avoid the area and expect significant delays. The roadway was reopened to traffic as of 8:22 p.m.
