Lewiston, NY (September 24, 2025) – A fatal motorcycle crash occurred Monday evening in the Town of Lewiston, resulting in the death of 34-year-old Michael J. Pendergast of Amherst.
The Niagara County Sheriff’s Office received multiple calls around 6:30 p.m., 22nd September 2025, reporting a serious motor vehicle crash in front of 4663 Townline Road. Upon arrival, authorities determined that the incident involved a motorcycle and a pickup truck.
According to the investigation, the pickup truck, traveling northbound, attempted to make a left turn onto Albright Road and turned directly in front of Pendergast, who was traveling southbound at a high rate of speed. The motorcycle struck the pickup truck, and Pendergast was pronounced dead at the scene.
The crash remains under investigation, and authorities have not released further details regarding contributing factors or possible citations.
