Mohawk, NY – Motorcycle Crash on I-90 Leaves Rider Injured

Mohawk, NY (June 6, 2025) – A motorcycle crash occurred on I-90 near milepost 220.4 in the town of Mohawk on June 6, 2025, at approximately 10:35 a.m., prompting a response from State Police.

Brian A. Kelsey, 64, of Arkport, NY, was operating a 2023 Harley Davidson motorcycle eastbound when he attempted to merge into the right lane due to a left lane closure in a construction zone. During the merge, Kelsey struck a traffic cone, causing him to lose control of the motorcycle.

The motorcycle overturned and slid approximately 500 feet. Kelsey was ejected from the bike during the slide and was treated by EMS on-site for minor injuries. He was subsequently transported by ambulance to Wynn Hospital for evaluation.

The investigation is ongoing.
