Pittstown, NY (May 29, 2025) – A serious pedestrian accident occurred on State Route 7 in Pittstown on May 29, 2025, when a New York State Department of Transportation (DOT) worker was struck by a westbound vehicle. The incident took place around 2:15 p.m. near the intersection of Campbell Lane.
Emergency responders arrived at the scene shortly after the collision. The DOT worker, who sustained severe injuries, was airlifted to Albany Medical Center for treatment. The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation, which is ongoing.
Due to the incident, State Route 7 is closed to all traffic between Reservoir Lake Road and Parker School Road, and to all commercial vehicles between Route 278 in Brunswick and State Route 22 in Hoosick. Authorities expect the closures to remain in effect until approximately 7 p.m. tonight.
