Fatal Motor Vehicle Crash in Jefferson County

Orleans, NY (October 28, 2025) – The New York State Police are investigating a fatal single-vehicle crash that occurred Sunday afternoon on Middle Road in the town of Orleans, claiming the life of 20-year-old Reid W. Marker of Virginia.

The crash happened around 12:54 p.m. on 26th October, 2025, when a 2005 Honda Accord driven by 18-year-old Isabella M. Keeton, of La Fargeville, failed to maintain its lane, veered off the roadway, and struck a tree on the west side of Middle Road, according to police reports.

Marker, the passenger in the vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene due to the impact. Keeton, the driver, was not injured in the crash.

A Drug Recognition Expert (DRE) was called to the scene and determined that Keeton showed no signs of impairment. Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the collision.
