Rochester, NY (May 28, 2025) – A tragic two-car crash occurred Wednesday at the intersection of Lake Avenue and Riverside Street, resulting in the death of a 63-year-old woman from East Rochester. The incident took place around 4:30 p.m. when the woman, driving southbound on Lake Avenue in a silver car, drifted into the northbound lane and collided with a black car driven by a 38-year-old man from Rochester.
Despite life-saving efforts, the woman was pronounced dead after being transported to the hospital. The driver of the black car was also taken to the hospital with complaints of pain, though his injuries are not considered life-threatening. No passengers were in either vehicle at the time of the crash.
Lake Avenue was temporarily closed as emergency crews cleared the scene and conducted an investigation. The road has since been reopened.
