Rochester, NY (June 26, 2025) – A woman was hospitalized early Thursday morning after being struck by a vehicle that fled the scene on the city’s southwest side, according to Rochester Police.
The incident occurred around midnight on Thurston Road near Sawyer Street. Authorities report that the 56-year-old woman had pulled over to work on a flat tire when she was hit by a gray sedan. The driver of the vehicle fled the scene after the collision.
The woman was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Police were seen blocking the road overnight as they investigated the scene.
Rochester Police are urging anyone with information about the vehicle or the incident to call 911.
