Schodack, NY (May 22, 2025) – A fatal two-car crash in Schodack claimed the life of a 21-year-old man on Sunday, May 22, 2025. The incident occurred at approximately 10:12 a.m. near the Schodack Indoor Flea Market on US Highway 9, prompting an emergency response and the temporary closure of a portion of Route 9.
The collision, which involved two vehicles, resulted in one car rolling over. The male driver and female passenger of the vehicle that rolled over were trapped and required extrication. Both individuals were transported to Albany Medical Center, with the driver, a 21-year-old Schodack resident, succumbing to his injuries late Sunday night. The female passenger, also injured, is recovering from her injuries.
Route 9 was closed for several hours, with the road reopening at approximately 2 p.m. The Schodack Police Department, in collaboration with the New York State Police, is investigating the cause of the crash.
