Coraopolis, PA – Summer Cartrette-26-Killed, Two Injured in Wrong-Way Crash on Parkway West

Coraopolis, PA (October 19, 2025) – 26-year-old Summer Cartrette tragically lost her life early Sunday morning in a wrong-way crash on the Parkway West near McClaren Road (Exit 56), close to the Pittsburgh International Airport, according to the Pennsylvania State Police.

The crash occurred around 1:30 a.m., when Cartrette was driving eastbound in the westbound lanes and collided head-on with another vehicle. Emergency crews arrived to find Cartrette pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver and passenger in the second vehicle were transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. Their current conditions have not been released.

The collision caused all westbound lanes in the area to close for nearly four hours while investigators reconstructed the scene. The roadway reopened at approximately 5:30 a.m.. The Pennsylvania State Police continue to investigate the cause of the crash.
