Syracuse, NY (May 27, 2025) – A dump truck struck the Park Street Bridge in Syracuse early this morning, around 8:40 a.m. The driver, a Liverpool resident whose identity has not been disclosed, was transported to a local hospital for evaluation after experiencing head pain, according to the Syracuse Police Department.
Emergency responders, including the Syracuse Fire Department and AMR Ambulance, quickly arrived at the scene to assess the situation. The driver was cited for multiple violations, including failure to wear a seatbelt, ignoring a traffic control device, and exceeding the height clearance for the bridge.
Fortunately, no damage was reported to the Park Street Bridge, though the dump truck is believed to be totaled. Authorities are continuing their investigation into the incident.
