Syracuse, NY (July 02, 2025) – Several people are hospitalized after a stolen car pursuit ended in a crash on Syracuse’s southside early Wednesday morning, according to the Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office.
At around 1 a.m., Syracuse Police spotted a stolen car, which prompted a pursuit involving the sheriff’s office. The chase lasted about a minute before the stolen car crashed at the intersection of Kenmore and Richardson Avenues, near McKinley Park.
The stolen car collided with another vehicle that was not involved in the pursuit, pushing it into a utility pole, which toppled over. Three people were inside the vehicle that was struck, including a toddler and a pregnant woman. The extent of their injuries has not been confirmed, but emergency responders transported them to the hospital.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the crash and the circumstances surrounding the pursuit.
