Syracuse, NY (June 26, 2025) – One person was killed and four others injured Thursday night in a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of James and Wilson Streets in Syracuse, according to the Syracuse Police Department.
The crash occurred around 8:46 p.m. when a vehicle collided with another, resulting in three people being ejected. Emergency crews responded quickly, with at least five ambulances dispatched to the scene. One individual was pronounced dead at the scene, while four others were transported to Upstate University Hospital with injuries. All four are listed in critical but stable condition.
The collision caused one vehicle to remain in the roadway, while the second vehicle crashed into a utility pole at the intersection. A significant emergency response included six ambulances, a crime scene unit van, and approximately 20 police vehicles.
As of 11:00 p.m., James Street remained closed between Vine Street and Teall Avenue for investigation and scene clearance.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation by the Syracuse Police Department’s Traffic Division.
