Syracuse, NY (April 17, 2025) – A traffic accident on Interstate 81 northbound near Exit 18, which leads to Adams Street and Harrison Street, resulted in at least one injury on Thursday morning, according to authorities.
The crash occurred around 10:47 a.m., prompting a response from the Syracuse Fire Department and EMS. First responders treated the injured at the scene, and at least one person was transported to a local hospital for further care. The full extent of injuries has not yet been confirmed.
The left lane was closed following the crash, leading to significant traffic congestion through the downtown area. Crews worked throughout the morning to clear the roadway and restore traffic flow. The cause of the collision is under investigation.
