Town of Bainbridge, NY (April 20, 2025) – A tragic single-vehicle crash claimed the life of a 17-year-old girl on Sunday morning in the Town of Bainbridge, according to New York State Police.
Authorities say the accident occurred at approximately 8:24 a.m. on East Afton Road. Troopers from the Sidney barracks responded after being dispatched by the Chenango County 911 Center.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the teenager was driving an SUV when she veered off the roadway, descending an embankment, crossing a creek, and striking multiple trees before the vehicle came to a stop on the far side of the creek.
The identity of the young victim has not been released at this time. Officials confirmed that the investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing.
