Woodbury, NY (May 6, 2025) – One person was killed and another seriously injured in a head-on collision Tuesday evening on U.S. Route 6 in Woodbury, according to New York State Police.
The crash was reported at approximately 5:12 p.m., involving a 2023 Dodge Ram 1500 pickup truck and a 2016 Honda Civic CRX. Troopers say the Dodge, driven by Noely Rafael Vargas, was traveling eastbound when it crossed the center line and struck the Honda head-on.
The driver of the Honda, Samantha Lezin, was pronounced dead at the scene. She was the sole occupant of the vehicle.
Vargas sustained multiple leg injuries and was transported to Garnet Health Medical Center for treatment. Two other individuals in a third vehicle, a 2018 Jeep Wrangler, were uninjured.
The Woodbury Police Department, EMS, and fire units, along with other local agencies, responded to the scene. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
