Wysox, PA (June 19, 2025) – A motorcyclist was injured Thursday afternoon in a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Lake Hill and Hillside Drive in Wysox, according to Pennsylvania State Police.
The incident occurred around 3:00 p.m. and involved an SUV and a motorcycle. Emergency services from Guthrie EMS and the Wysox Volunteer Fire Department responded to the scene. The motorcyclist was transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital for further evaluation. The extent of their injuries has not been disclosed.
The SUV driver, identified as Michael Rothfuss, stated that the motorcycle unexpectedly entered the intersection, leaving him little time to avoid a collision. “I was coming down the hill, and he pulled out in front of me. I couldn’t avoid him. I tried to miss him, but as hard as I braked, I couldn’t stop in time,” Rothfuss reported.
Rothfuss did not sustain major injuries in the crash. The incident remains under investigation by state authorities.
We extend our best wishes to the injured motorcyclist and hope for a full and swift recovery.
Personal Injury Lawsuits in Pennsylvania
Across Pennsylvania, injury-related accidents are rising on rural highways, icy sidewalks, and at industrial work zones. In cities and towns such as Wellsboro, Bradford, and Towanda, traffic on Route 6 and other two-lane roads increases the risk of highway collisions, especially during winter months.
Under Pennsylvania’s modified comparative fault law, injured parties may pursue compensation only if they are found less than 51% at fault. Even partial responsibility can significantly reduce the amount recovered. This legal nuance makes it essential to establish fault clearly through testimony from witnesses, photographic and forensic evidence, as well as skilled legal arguments by a personal injury attorney.
Victims have two years from the date of the accident to file a personal injury lawsuit in Pennsylvania. Missing this deadline means permanently losing the right to pursue damages in court.
