Three cars crash near Clemens Center Parkway intersection

Elmira, NY (November 18, 2025) – A three-car collision involving a New York State Police SUV caused traffic disruptions Tuesday afternoon near Clemens Center Parkway and Washington Avenue, according to reports from the scene.

The crash happened shortly after 12:40 p.m. on 18th Nov, 2025, leaving two civilian vehicles with extensive front-end damage. The NYSP SUV sustained damage to its front wheel and passenger-side door.

Deputies from the Chemung County Sheriff’s Office, additional State Police units, and members of the Elmira Fire Department responded to assess the vehicles, manage the intersection, and clear debris. At this time, officials have not confirmed whether any injuries occurred.

The roadway was partially blocked as emergency crews worked at the scene, and traffic delays were reported through early afternoon.

Crashes Involving Law Enforcement Vehicles

Collisions that involve police vehicles can raise unique issues, including questions of emergency operation, right-of-way, and municipal liability. New York law allows injury victims to pursue claims when an officer is not operating a vehicle with due regard for safety. Strict time limits apply for filing notices of claim, making early legal guidance important.
