Manhattan, NY (December 4, 2025) – A 27-year-old woman from Cambridge, Massachusetts, was killed in a tragic New York City pedestrian accident on Thursday morning after she was struck by a driver traveling the wrong way on a one-way street.
Authorities reported the crash occurred around 8:30 a.m. on Morton Street at 7th Avenue South in the West Village. The victim was crossing the street when a black 2020 GMC Savana van, driven by a 61-year-old man, struck her head-on. The driver was reportedly traveling westbound on a one-way street designated for eastbound traffic when the collision occurred.
The woman was rushed to Bellevue Hospital but was pronounced dead shortly after 9 a.m. The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators, and no charges had been filed as of Thursday afternoon.
