Manhattan, NY (November 9, 2025) – A 27-year-old woman was struck and killed in a wrong-way crash Thursday morning in Greenwich Village, according to New York City officials.

The incident occurred around 8:30 a.m. near the intersection of Morton Street and Seventh Avenue, when the driver of a GMC reportedly exited a parking garage and began driving the wrong way down Morton Street. The vehicle struck the woman as she was crossing in the crosswalk, causing catastrophic injuries.

Paramedics responded immediately and attempted life-saving measures, but the victim died from her injuries shortly after the collision.

Local residents told reporters that wrong-way driving incidents have been a recurring problem along Morton Street, raising concerns about traffic safety and signage in the area. The NYPD Collision Investigation Squad is continuing to investigate the crash and determine whether any charges will be filed.
