Waterloo, NY – Delaine George-70-Arrested for DWI After Rear-End Crash in Tyre

Waterloo Woman Arrested for DWI After Two-Vehicle Crash

Tyre, NY (November 9, 2025) – A Waterloo woman was arrested on driving while intoxicated (DWI) charges after a two-vehicle crash in the Town of Tyre, according to New York State Police.

Authorities reported that 70-year-old Delaine George was driving when she rear-ended another vehicle, causing minor injuries to both occupants inside. Emergency responders from North Seneca Ambulance and the Tyre Town Fire Department assisted at the scene.

The two injured individuals declined hospital transport after being evaluated on site. Following an investigation, George submitted to a chemical breath test, which revealed a blood alcohol concentration (BAC) of 0.11%, exceeding New York’s legal limit of 0.08%.

George was issued an appearance ticket and a violation for following too closely. She is scheduled to appear in the Town of Tyre Court on December 10.

Officials reminded the public that charges are accusations only, and George is presumed innocent until proven guilty.

DWI and Rear-End Collisions in New York

Under New York Vehicle and Traffic Law, driving with a BAC of 0.08% or higher constitutes a DWI offense. Rear-end collisions often lead to civil liability, particularly when impairment is suspected. Victims of such crashes can pursue compensation for medical costs, lost wages, and pain and suffering through a personal injury claim.

A New York DWI accident attorney can help victims gather evidence, work with insurers, and protect their rights during both the criminal and civil processes.
