Canandaigua, NY (June 22, 2025) – A serious two-vehicle crash occurred Sunday afternoon at the intersection of County Road 28 and Emerson Road in Canandaigua, leaving two drivers injured, one in critical condition, according to the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded to the scene around 2:30 p.m. following reports of a rollover collision. The investigation revealed that a 20-year-old man was operating a 2018 Ford F-250 northbound on County Road 28 when a 76-year-old woman driving a 2016 Kia Soul eastbound on Emerson Road failed to stop at a stop sign and entered the intersection. The vehicles collided, causing the woman’s vehicle to overturn into an embankment.
The Canandaigua Fire Department extricated the woman from her vehicle. She was transported by Mercy Flight to Strong Memorial Hospital with critical injuries and remains in critical condition. The driver of the Ford F-250 sustained minor, non-life-threatening injuries.
The Ontario County Sheriff’s Crash Reconstruction Unit responded to investigate the scene. The intersection and the surrounding roadway were closed for several hours during the investigation.
Authorities confirm the investigation is ongoing.
