Colonie, NY – Car Crashes into Dentist Office, Causes Gas Leak on Sand Creek Rd

Colonie, NY (October 31, 2025) – A car crash into a dentist’s office on Sand Creek Road in Colonie caused a gas leak early Friday morning around 9:30 a.m.

The incident occurred when the vehicle collided with the building, causing the gas service to be ripped out. Colonie Fire Company Chief Jeff Kayser stated the cause of the crash was likely driver confusion, with the driver mistakenly stepping on the gas pedal instead of the brake while pulling into the parking lot.

National Grid was called to the scene to contain the gas leak, and the area was briefly shut down. Thankfully, there were no injuries, and everyone in the building evacuated quickly. Officials confirmed there were no health concerns as a result of the leak.
