Delano Township, PA (November 14, 2025) – Pennsylvania State Police have identified 26-year-old Danyel Miller of Shenandoah as the victim of a fatal multi-vehicle crash on Friday evening on Interstate 81.
The collision occurred around 5:45 p.m. in the southbound lanes of I-81 in Delano Township and involved two passenger vehicles and a tractor-trailer.
Investigators say a Honda traveling in the right lane used the shoulder to pass another vehicle. When the driver attempted to re-enter the travel lane, the Honda struck a tractor-trailer and spun, hitting an Audi driven by Miller.
Miller’s vehicle left the highway, rolled down the median embankment several times, and ultimately came to rest in the northbound lanes. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
No information has been released regarding additional injuries, and police have not announced whether charges will be filed. The investigation remains active.
High-Speed Interstate Crashes
Fatal crashes on interstates often involve sudden lane changes, improper passing, and high-speed impacts, all of which complicate fault assessment. In Pennsylvania, drivers owe a duty to operate safely within marked lanes and avoid using shoulders except in emergencies. When those rules are violated, determining liability may involve reviewing dash-cam footage, witness statements, and physical evidence such as skid marks and vehicle damage. Families may have the right to pursue a wrongful death claim when another driver’s negligence contributes to a fatal crash.
