Lenox, NY (June 13, 2025) – Eight individuals, including six children, were hospitalized following a serious crash on State Route 13 in Madison County on Friday afternoon. The incident occurred at approximately 2:40 p.m. near 7915 State Route 13.
According to the Madison County Sheriff’s Office, a 64-year-old driver, James E. Carpenter of Fulton, was traveling northbound when his Chevrolet Trailblazer crossed into the southbound lane. The Trailblazer collided head-on with a Honda Odyssey driven by 40-year-old Eveline Lamar from Covington, Georgia, who was traveling south at the time.
Lamar, along with seven passengers, including six children, sustained various injuries and were transported to Upstate University Hospital. Carpenter was also taken to the same hospital for treatment of his injuries.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the crash, though preliminary reports indicate that speed and alcohol were not contributing factors.
