One Dead, Two Injured in Head-On Crash on Oswego Road in Lysander

Lysander, NY – A man was killed and two others injured in a head-on collision Monday morning in the Town of Lysander. The crash occurred around 8:20 AM on Monday morning on Oswego Road, according to New York State Police.

Troopers determined that Michael J. Simmons-Iocona, 28, of Williamstown, NY, was driving a Chevrolet Express cargo van northbound on Oswego Road when he crossed over the centerline and struck a Jeep SUV head-on.

Simmons-Iocona was transported to Upstate Medical Center, where he later died from his injuries.

The driver of the Jeep, a 54-year-old woman, suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries. A 3-year-old passenger in the Jeep was also evaluated at Upstate Medical Center.

State Police are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash. Further information regarding contributing factors has not yet been released.
