Rochester, NY (June 03, 2025) – A 35-year-old man was hospitalized following a crash in the South Wedge on Tuesday that caused significant damage to both his vehicle and a large tree.
Around 5:15 p.m., the driver of an SUV lost control while trying to avoid an oncoming vehicle on Alexander Street near South Avenue. The SUV veered off the road, struck a street sign, and crashed into a tree, causing it to snap in half.
The driver, the only occupant of the vehicle, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital. No other individuals were involved in the crash, and no further injuries were reported.
Crews were dispatched to remove the fallen tree, and police confirmed that no arrests or citations were issued. The incident is not considered to be a criminal matter.
We extend our thoughts to the driver for a full recovery.
