Westmoreland, NY (May 11, 2025) – Emergency crews responded early Sunday morning to a crash involving a tractor-trailer on the New York State Thruway eastbound near mile marker 238.
The incident occurred at 4:27 a.m. on the bridge over Oriskany Boulevard, according to the Westmoreland Volunteer Fire Department. While no injuries were reported, the crash resulted in significant property damage and a fuel spill from the vehicle.
Multiple agencies responded, including the New York State Police, Thruway Authority, DOT, DEC, Whitesboro Fire Department, UFD Haz-Mat, and Clinton Collision.
Crews worked to contain the spill and secure the scene. The Westmoreland Fire Department expressed gratitude to Stewarts Shops for providing coffee and donuts to first responders during the morning operation.
