Rochester, NY (October 10, 2025) – A woman in her 70s was injured Thursday morning after being struck by a hit-and-run driver on Draper Street near the intersection with Portland Avenue.
According to Rochester Police, the incident occurred around 8:30 a.m. on 9th October, 2025, while the victim was assisting pedestrians with her stop sign in the crosswalk. A gray Chevrolet Equinox made a right turn from Portland Avenue onto Draper Street and struck the crossing guard. She sustained non-life-threatening lower body injuries and was transported to Strong Memorial Hospital for treatment.
Investigators are actively seeking the driver of the vehicle. Authorities are reviewing surveillance footage and witness statements to identify the responsible party.
